ITV is launching two new TV commercials created with Generative AI to encourage small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to explore TV advertising. The first ad, featuring Swansea-based Travel House, will air on September 23rd for ITV Wales viewers, while an ad for Newry-based Sheepbridge Interiors will debut for UTV viewers in Northern Ireland on September 20th. This initiative represents both companies’ first venture into TV advertising, utilizing AI to enhance production quality and streamline costs.

Jason Spencer, ITV’s Business Development Director, emphasized that the cost of creating ads often deters brands from entering the TV market. By incorporating Generative AI into their creative services, ITV aims to make high-quality advertising more accessible for SMEs. Both Travel House and Sheepbridge Interiors expressed enthusiasm about the innovative approach, viewing it as a significant opportunity to drive business growth. The GenAI production option will be available to all new SME advertisers, expanding ITV’s existing creative services that already support over 200 new-to-TV brands annually.
