WPP’s THOMPSON, part of the VML network, has secured a $1.9B, 10-year contract to continue managing the U.S. Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) Advertising Program. This long-standing partnership, which dates back over 77 years, focuses on brand awareness, lead generation, and recruiter support. The contract, covering two 5-year periods, includes fees for agency services, media, production, and related costs.
The Marine Corps Recruiting Command aims to recruit around 40,000 personnel annually, using a wide range of marketing strategies, from social media to local events. The team at THOMPSON, which draws on a legacy of innovation, will continue to support these efforts with creative campaigns designed to attract the next generation of Marines.
Lieutenant Colonel Anton Semelroth, from the MCRC, praised THOMPSON’s commitment and expertise in reaching target audiences. THOMPSON’s Executive Director, Sean McNeeley, emphasized the agency’s dedication to supporting Marine recruiters and delivering impactful, innovative work over the next decade.
