Sony Group Corporation and Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) have appointed Hideaki Nishino as President and CEO of PlayStation, effective April 1, 2025. This follows his earlier appointment in June 2024 as CEO of SIE’s Platform Business Group. Hermen Hulst will continue as CEO of SIE’s Studio Business Group, reporting to Nishino.

Hiroki Totoki, current SIE Chairman and Sony Group’s President, COO, and CFO, will step down from his role at SIE to become President and CEO of Sony Group Corporation. Lin Tao, SIE’s SVP of Finance, will become CFO of Sony Group Corporation.

Nishino, who joined Sony in 2000, will oversee platform experience, technology, products, services, and relationships with third-party publishers. He expressed excitement about driving innovation and expanding the PlayStation community.
