Amazon is ramping up its advertising on X (formerly Twitter) after pulling back over a year ago due to concerns about hate speech, the Wall Street Journal reports. This move follows Apple’s return to ad testing on the platform, after halting ads in 2023. Many other companies also paused advertising after Musk’s endorsement of an anti-Semitic post. X’s U.S. ad revenue has reportedly dropped by at least 55% year-over-year since Musk’s acquisition in 2022, with Musk warning that a prolonged advertiser boycott could lead to bankruptcy.
