The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has updated its Influencer Advertising Guidelines for health and finance sectors. Influencers must now declare qualifications only when offering technical advice, not for generic promotions or public service messages.

The update aims to distinguish expert advice from general endorsements, reflecting the growing sophistication of influencer marketing, according to ASCI CEO Manisha Kapoor.
