Sharat Sinha, formerly the president of Asia-Pacific and Japan at Check Point Software Technologies, has been appointed as the chief executive officer for Airtel Business by Bharti Airtel. He will report directly to Gopal Vittal and join the Airtel management board, with his new role taking effect from June 3.
In June 2023, Ajay Chitkara, the former CEO of Airtel Business, Bharti Airtel’s enterprise division, stepped down. This led Bharti Airtel to restructure the leadership of Airtel Business, dividing it into three segments: Global Business, led by Vani Venkatesh; Domestic Business, led by Ganesh Lakshminarayanan; and Nxtra Data Centers, led by Ashish Arora, according to a report by the Indian Express.
Sinha began his career at VSNL and has since held positions at Ericsson, Cisco, Tellabs, Palo Alto Networks, VMware, and Riverwood Capital. During his tenure as President for Check Point Asia Pacific, Sinha focused on protecting businesses in the Asia-Pacific region from the constantly evolving cyber threat landscape.
