British Airways has launched a new TV advert and brand campaign, “Family in the Skies,” specifically for the Indian market, starring India-based colleagues. The campaign celebrates 100 years of flying between India and the UK, showcasing the airline’s dedication to exceptional service, driven by its people. Developed by UK-based Uncommon Creative Studio and its Indian network, the advert features 25 colleagues and is supported by an out-of-home campaign featuring 78 colleagues.
Collaborating with Indian and British creative directors, the campaign also brings together notable Indian talent, including filmmaker Prakash Varma, casting director Romil Modi, acting coach Chandan Kumar, and photographer Avani Rai. The short film highlights British Airways’ commitment to caring for passengers, following the journey of a young woman traveling to the UK, with a touching narrative that emphasizes family and community support.
The film, along with the out-of-home campaign, will launch across India starting November 1, with versions also airing in the UK, US, and Canada. The campaign, supported by OMD India and MG OMD, will be shown across multiple platforms, including cinema, YouTube, connected TV, and social media. The airline is proud of its Indian workforce, with more than 2,500 colleagues based in India, making it the largest outside the UK. British Airways operates over 50 flights per week between India and the UK, serving five cities—Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai—with plans to expand to more than 60 flights per week by summer 2025.
