The ad, created by Wieden+Kennedy New York, showcases Cena delivering an inspirational monologue about the menu’s new $5 meal deals, in-app bargains, local specials, and a $1 “buy one, add one” offer. He ends the commercial with his signature “you can’t see me” gesture, encouraging customers to explore the menu’s possibilities.
The campaign coincides with Cena’s WWE retirement announcement, adding a nostalgic element for fans. Cena, a long-time McDonald’s fan, has previously shared how the fast-food chain was an important part of his life, especially during his WWE tours. The partnership also aims to rebuild consumer trust following recent global boycotts related to the Israel-Gaza conflict.
In addition, Cena’s farewell tour, streamed live on Netflix, began with the January 6, 2025, premiere of WWE Monday Night Raw.
