Uber has launched its new campaign, #SafetyNeverStops, to raise awareness about the safety challenges women face while using transportation. The campaign features stand-up comedians Shreeja Chaturvedi, Shreya Priyam Roy, and Shashi Dhiman, who use humor to highlight serious safety issues with the tagline “Women’s safety isn’t a joke.” The campaign includes nine candid films shot in everyday public spaces like markets and transit stations, portraying the safety decisions women make in relatable situations.
Ameya Velankar, Head of Marketing at Uber India, emphasized that Uber’s commitment to safety is ongoing, combining both technology and human intervention. The campaign also showcases Uber’s safety features such as Share Your Trip, RideCheck, a 24×7 safety helpline, and phone/address anonymization to protect users’ privacy.
According to the 2024 India Economic Impact Report, 95% of female riders cite safety as their top reason for using Uber. The #SafetyNeverStops campaign is being rolled out across multiple platforms, including print, digital, and social media, and builds on Uber’s recent safety features like Women Rider Preference, Audio Recording, and customizable Safety Preferences.
