Hyatt has announced Sunjae Sharma, Managing Director for India and Southwest Asia, as the new Chairperson of the ASSOCHAM National Council on Travel & Tourism for 2024. With over 30 years in the hospitality industry, Sharma aims to tackle key challenges and drive growth in the travel and tourism sector.
Having held significant roles at Hyatt, including Vice President and General Manager of Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Sharma is well-positioned to enhance ASSOCHAM’s policy advocacy and influence. He expressed gratitude for the appointment, emphasizing his commitment to fostering innovation and addressing the industry’s evolving needs.
Sharma will lead the council until the end of President Sanjay Nayar’s tenure, focusing on advancing industry policies and strategies for a thriving travel and tourism landscape in India. He is also a member of the Economic Times Leadership Council and the India CEO Forum.
