On September 4, 2024, the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) will elect its new governing body during its 38th Annual General Meeting. Partha Sinha, the current Vice-Chairman, is poised to become the new Chairman, succeeding Saugata Gupta, MD and CEO of Marico Ltd., who served as Chairman for the 2023-2024 term.
Sinha, who was appointed President and Chief Brand Officer at Bennett Coleman & Company Limited in July, previously held the role of President, Response, at BCCL. His extensive 30-year career includes diverse roles such as a nuclear design engineer, banker, and strategy and marketing head for media and internet companies. Sinha has worked with prominent organizations like Ogilvy, Publicis, BBH, McCann, and Citibank, and is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and IIM Ahmedabad.
